I wish you a lot of fun. Bon Jovi was one of my first hard rock bands that I have ever heard. :P

Wacken:

Helloween
Ozzy Osbourne
Morbid Angel
Judas Priest
Airbourne
Crashdïet
Mayhem
Shining
Avantasia
Children Of Bodom

It was great to see Deris and Kiske at the same festival! And it was a dream come true to finally see Children Of Bodom live. The whole festival was great.

For me in Wacken:

Skyline (as opener ok, but nothing more)

Helloween (missed the first 15 minutes and wished I had missed the rest too. :? Absolutely terrible and even some fans at the Helloween board are complaining about the singalong/talking/drum solo crap and vocal quality)

Blind Guardian (Good show, but I'm not so deep into their stuff)

Ensiferum (Very good, but I missed the first minutes, because of the security controls at the entrance. Ensiferum should have played at a later time.)

Suicidal Tendencies (Ok show. Watched while sitting and eating)

Rhapsody of Fire (Very good and Fabio is a great singer and frontman)

Judas Priest (True Metal, nothing more to say. Very wild crowd and I was in the middle very near the front).

Stormzone (Very good singer. I didn't know them before and it was requested by someone I meet at the festival. I will check this band out)

Knorkator (Again recommended by someone else. I'm not sure what I have to think about this band. They are somehow quite funny)

Iced Earth (Good show and the last one with Barlow)

Avantasia (You know what I think about it, hehehe.   )

Nightwish - Frankfurt 23.04.2012

I want to tell a little bit about this great concert:

When I entered the concert hall at 7pm, the first band was already playing. I have never heard of them and they only played classic instrumends, so it was a little bit different experience, but nice. The second band, played a typical German (Teutonic) metal style, best compared to Accept, but with a female vocalist. It was ok, but nothing really for me. I cannot stand this rough screaming for many songs. After this band, we had to wait around 45 minutes until Nightwish started and they played the complete Accept CD during this time. Sorry, but that was too much and I would have welcomed something else instead.

Then Nightwish started first with a hidden stage during the first song. The stage design was really impressive with a big screen which showed images and videos during the whole show. They also used lots of fire effects during the show. The set list was mainly focused on new songs, or better said on songs designed for Anettes voice, which was a great decission. I was first a little bit sceptical, since I preferred Tarja, but it really seems Anette grows as a singer. They also made everything right with mainly playing new songs and rearranging the old songs for her voice, so this is the way how it should be done using a new singer with a different voice. 8-)

For me the highlights were Storytime, I want my tears back, Planet Hell, The Crow, Last ride of the Day, Dead to the World. They played for 2 hours which was great as well, but I was unlucky in catching a tour shirt after the concert, since almost verything was already sold. :?

By the way, Marco is also a great singer whose voice fits very well as contrast to Anette. One funny thing during the concert, Marco invited us using our cell phones and cameras during 'The Crow' and shooting videos as a light effect. He said you can film whatever you want here.

It sounds like you really loved being at this concert! I have never heard anything of Nightwish before but when I get the chance I will have a look at their website :) That is really great how they invited fans to use their cameras! Sometimes at concerts fans can feel really bad for filming because you are not really allowed to do this so that is great that they did this!!! Okay, well, you made me want to see who these nightwish guys are!!!
