It's totally understandable that Michael won't take part in that album. His role was that of the "keeper" of "the land of new hope". It wouldn't have made sense to have him return playing a different character. Michael also didn't like that fact that Avalon is a metal opera and can be compared to Avantasia. I don't think he would have agreed to participate again. Tolkki had also mentioned that the following 2 albums will feature a different line-up.

What I find very strange this time is the use of 4 female singers and a female protagonist. That is too much! Elize Ryd is back due to the story/concept I guess but I hope that Rob Rock will not return, as he was way overused on the previous album IMO.

I think it's sad....I liked the song "The land of new hope" very much..... I had great expectations about Kiske in this second album...but never mind...It will not happen  .

I just hope they (Tolkki and Kiske) can continue being friends :? or good mates in music and collaborating in futures works :jam: .....

Hope is the last thing you lose ;)

I don't open a new thread for it, even though it is without Kiske. Here you can check an EPK for the new album. ;)

I had a listening session of the full album and it takes some time to get into the new material. It is darker and more melancholic. My favourite is so far the epic and little Nightwish influenced titel track 'Angel of the Apocalypse'. I will write more after some more listening sessions. ;)
