Here you can help and support Gamma Ray and several other bands from Hamburg who lost all of their equipment with the big fire destroying the Hammer Studios. There you can share ideas to help the bands. Yesterday the whole recording studios, the equipment and everything was destoyed. So please share and spread these words. ;)

No idea how this will maybe influence the new Unisonic album.

This was a really unfortunate incident.

I have the feeling that things are not looking too good for the plans that Unisonic have. Kai is busy being on tour with Gamma Ray until the middle of December. If Gamma Ray have lost some bits from their new recording, due to the fire, I'm sure that they will try to finish the album until the end of the year. So probably Kai will concentrate on Unisonic from January and onwards. This doesn't leave a lot of time for songwriting and recording...

Hmmm, I don't see it that Gamma Ray will finish their album until the end of the year. They have no recording studio anymore and lost all of their equipment. I think Kai has other things to do when he returns from South America, because he was a partly owner of the studios. So he has to deal now with insurances and other things. After he finished these things he has to search for a rental studio which fits his needs to finish the new Gamma Ray album and all that stuff.

Here you can watch pictures and a video, how the whole building looks like now. There is nothing to be saved and the building is still in danger to crash down completely:

All in all, I see many problems for a new Unisonic album next year. :(

This is unfortunately true. Especially if you listen to Kiske's Avantasia interview at Masters Of Rock and you also consider Gamma Ray's current problem, you understand that an early summer release is just not happening. On the other hand if the guys release a strong EP (with 2 album tracks and perhaps 2 live songs) before the summer and a killer album before December 2014 I don't mind.

Gamma Ray are planning to release their new album in March and a tour follows throughout April (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTff4ppFrdA). This means that Kai will be busy with GR until May. So there is no point in hoping for a June or summer release for the new Unisonic album. Let's wish for a November or December release (depending on the Unisonic tour schedule).

Happy new year to everyone :D

"Unisonic Enter The Studio:

We wish you all a Happy New Year and all the best for 2014 which we want to start with some cool news for you:

Unisonic is about to enter the studio tomorrow for a first session including rehearsals, arrangements and already some first drum recordings.
Watch out!"

Ok now I'm confused. I guess the update doesn't refer to Kai. It's good news anyways!

No, Kai is busy with Gamma Ray and finishing their album. The rehearsals are probably only with Kiske, Dennis and Kosta. I guess Mandy won't be there as well. ;)

By the way, I'm just back from travelling to shows and some vacation during the holidays. ;)

Welcome back and happy new year.

Here are some strange and interesting news from Gamma Ray's official facebook:

"Happy New Year to everybody out there!
It's time for more news from the studio concerning the new album: all in all there are 10 new songs (plus the two you already know from the EP - so 12) and the credits (number of compositions) are spread out like this: Michael (1), Dirk (2 with one ballad), Henjo (2), Kai (4) and Mandy Meyer ( 1, left from the first Unisonic album)"

:?: :?: :!:

Curiosities

- There are songs which didn't end in the album?

Yes, we know there are at least two. One song without title, is the track known as the "14th song". I knew about that song because in Burrn magazine it was published there was 14 songs available and later in a few interviews, Kai Hansen talked about that missing track, he said:

"...there's one song which we did not finish because it was a bit too different and we had not place in this album. The song was not finished, it was a idea or demo of Mandy Meyer who did with a friend. I really liked that song because it had a different "touch", so I added a few vocals, but for time reasons we left it. I think it could fit better in Gamma Ray than in Unisonic."
